Image result for breast cancer awareness campaign 2019

Breast Cancer is the most common type of non-skin cancer in women in the United States and the U.K. According to the American Association of Cancer Research Breast Cancer accounts for 15% of all new cancer cases each year and in 2018 alone more than 266,000 women were diagnosed with Breast Cancer and around 40,000 died from Breast Cancer. And according to the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion “about 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point.”

The statistics are staggering and show that many of us have or have had a family member that has been diagnosed with breast cancer and if it’s not a family member then someone we know. The best thing we can do for ourselves or those around us is to make sure we are educated on risk and prevention and early detection and diagnosis. Of course if you know someone with breast cancer educating yourself on breast cancer as a disease and understanding treatments can be so helpful to you and your loved one.

Below are several great resources for Breast Cancer education. Early detection is key to surviving breast cancer, so please educate yourselves, your family, and friends!
